The Great Mangawhai Plunket & Kindergarten Garden Ramble

Saturday & Sunday 6th & 7th November 2010

You are invited to our Great Mangawhai Garden Ramble.  This is a great event for people to enjoy a pleasant weekend exploring fantastic gardens and estates in our beautiful countryside. The Ramble will appeal to gardeners, nature lovers, friends & families alike.

First held in 2003, this annual event has grown in popularity with patrons coming from far afield to participate.  It is set to be a big drawcard again!  And it’s for a great cause. Money raised goes towards operational expenses for the Mangawhai Kindergarten and the Kaiwaka / Mangawhai Plunket Society.

The 2010 Garden Ramble has an exciting array of properties on show.  Explore over 20 private gardens, estates & boutique businesses in Magical Mangawhai and surrounding districts. Many are on display for the first time, so there is great variety to delight returning gardening enthusiasts as well as first time ramblers!  The gardens are of varying size, style and age. Several gardens have special attractions including ponds, water features, sculptures and artwork.

Refreshments: While you wander around the gardens you will have the chance to purchase refreshments at several of these delightful venues.  Relax and enjoy the surroundings. Toilets will also be available at these places.

Directions: Mangawhai is situated 1 hour north of Auckland’s North Shore,  or 55 minutes south of Whangarei.  Wises have a great website if you need to plan your trip. Try www.wises.co.nz using the ‘Find a Place’ option.

Early Bird Tickets: Earlybird tickets go on sale from early September and cost $15, or after Labour Weekend $20.  Your ticket provides access to both days of the Ramble, and has full details of each garden and a map. Purchase from our selected retailers including Naja Garden Centre, Mangawhai;  Mangawhai Village Gas Station;  Jaques Superstore Kaiwaka and The Thistle Books & Gifts Waipu.

Postal Sales: For postal ticket sales or inquiries phone the Mangawhai Kindergarten on 09 4314333 and ask to speak to the Garden Ramble Organisers.  The organisers are all volunteers, so if we are not present when you call we will phone you back promptly.  We can provide you with electronic banking details, or, you can make a cheque out to ‘Mangawhai Kindergarten’ and post to Garden Ramble Fundraiser, Mangawhai Kindergarten, 36 Insley Street, Mangawhai Village, 0505.
